In this way the number of Russell Viper snakes in Kanpur Zoo has increased to 12. The height of the five children is 8 to 10 inches. The team of wildlife doctors is monitoring the female snake and its babies.
Russell’s viper snakes become active within four to five hours of birth. This snake is one of the most dangerous snakes in the world, whose venom clogs the arteries of the blood, causing the death of a person due to heart attack. This snake bites by jumping and also makes a whistle-like sound before biting.
Forest Conservator and Director KK Singh said that the four most poisonous seven chital snakes have been preserved in Kanpur Zoo. The venom of this snake strikes the heart by affecting the arteries of the human blood. This snake makes a sound like a cooker whistle before biting. It became active only four hours after birth. After the birth of five children, now the number of chital snakes in the campus has increased to 12.
In-charge Veterinary Officer Dr. Anurag Singh told that the length of the poisonous female chital snake is about three feet. Its diet is mainly rat, lizard, scorpion etc. The female chital fertilizes her eggs in the abdomen. After the process of fertilization is complete, she gives birth to her own children. The gestation period of a female snake is more than six months. This snake gives birth to about 5 to 10 children at a time. Babies are born in the month of June to July.
