The US, Britain, and France are permanent members of the UN Security Council, while Albania heads the council for this month. Albania heads the council for this month Earlier in September 2020, Pakistan had made a similar attempt, but even then its proposal was rejected by 5 countries. This time too, the UN Security Council committee termed Pakistan’s proposal as a waste of time. Giving information about this, India’s diplomat to the United Nations TS Trimurti tweeted, “Pakistan was trying to give religious color to terrorism and wanted to politicize the special procedure under 1267.”
He said that we thank those countries who rejected the offer Pakistan. Pakistan’s proposal comes just a week after India attempts to declare Lashkar’s number 2 commander Abdul Rehman Makki as a global terrorist. However, China vetoed this proposal. This proposal was jointly presented by India and the US on 1 June. After this, it was placed before the 1267 Committee of the Security Council. The last date to file an objection for this was June 16, before which China blocked it.

Let us tell you that a reward of 2 million dollars was announced by the US on Makki. Apart from this, Washington and Delhi have declared him a terrorist according to their local rules. He is a relative of Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed and is also considered close to Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.
